IDOM, a multidisciplinary engineering company that "represents the industrial tradition of the Basque Country" has presented its technological and innovation capabilities to ENUSA in order to jointly develop collaboration opportunities in both the nuclear and environmental fields.

At the Basque engineering headquarters, IDOM and ENUSA have met to share their respective capabilities and possible alliances since they consider that "the capabilities of the public and private nuclear sector make Spain an unbeatable world power."

Basque engineering has been represented by Xabier Ruiz, director of Nuclear Services, Iñaki Gorrochategui, technical director of Operations and Óscar Larrosa, the head of the company at its headquarters in Madrid. On behalf of ENUSA, its president, José Vicente Berlanga, and the director of Business and Technology Development, Roberto González Villegas, attended.

The president of ENUSA has expressed himself "satisfied" with the result of the meeting with the company IDOM, since there are "many coincidences" in some of the strategies that both companies are addressing, such as the internationalization process and the commitment to R&D&i. and he has trusted that the collaboration "between the two" will strengthen the possibilities of growth in both the nuclear and environmental sectors.

In Spain, IDOM is recognized for being the awardee of the Basic and Execution projects of the work of the new San Mamés, considered the "New Cathedral" of football, assuming in turn the Construction Management, imposing itself on large firms of the national and international architecture and engineering.

The Guggenheim is another of the great works that bears the signature of the Bilbao company. Selected by Frank Gehry, she was in charge of directing the execution of a work that, given its undulating shapes, required construction solutions based on new technologies and which was worthy of the annual award for Best Structure of the Year, awarded by the Association of Structural Engineers. of the United States.

However, 80% of IDOM's activity takes place in foreign countries. This internationalization has been the main milestone achieved in recent years. However, the company's challenge is to continue growing and enhance its foreign presence in those places where it is not yet consolidated.

In the meeting held by both companies, they analyzed the situation in the nuclear sector and the challenges faced by both the public and private sectors in this area.

Xabier Ruiz, director of Nuclear Services, has highlighted the excellent and recognized work of ENUSA in the manufacture of fuel and associated services, something that is recognized at an "international level."

For José Vicente Berlanga, the meeting has been "very satisfactory" because it has allowed us to verify that there are "coinciding strategies" between both companies that can facilitate future areas of collaboration.

Internationalization and the search for new markets was one of the aspects on which the representatives of the two companies focused a large part of their meeting, and on which both agreed on the need to combine synergies because, according to Xabier Ruiz, general director of IDOM, "it is essential that the public sector leads and promotes actions to which leading companies like IDOM, with high capabilities, join."

Berlanga conveyed to IDOM ENUSA's determined commitment to promoting R&D&I and valued "the talent and high capabilities of our workers", which is why he was convinced that the "sum of capabilities of the public nuclear sector and private makes Spain an unbeatable world power", and that is being reflected in the trust we generate in our clients, extremes that have been confirmed, in the case of ENUSA, with the recent signing of contracts for supplies and associated services carried out last year.
